Visit to IPM Group:

Visit to IPM Group:

This Tuesday 31 October,

I was at IPM Group in Etterbeek:

IPM Groupe comtiens the dailies :

  • La Libre Belgique
  • DH (Dernière Heure) Sports news
  • Regional daily newspaper: L'avenir.net

Magazines :

  • Mosquito
  • Paris Match
  • and the TV programme: Télépocket

Radio :

  • LN Radio

And the news channel: LN24

Here are a few photos taken during the visit:

HERE is part of the NEWSROOM; the editors of La Libre Belgique, Moustique Mag and Paris Match Belgique.

The other part of the NEWSROOM is the daily La DH and the LN24 news channel;

The NEWSROOM: comtien some 205 journalists throughout the IPM Group. The NEWSROOM of the daily newspaper L'avenir.net is based in Bouge (Namur), so the NEWSROOM is divided into 2; the majority is based at the IPM Group headquarters, the other part is in Bouge. Le quotidien de l'avenir.net if you don't know it !!! It's the daily newspaper that talks more about regional and local news, there are still national articles and news.

Here we go, I'm going to take you with me to the IPM Group offices;

HERE, I'm in the big studio:

Still in the big studio, here's the camera/prompter:

Yes, the journalists they are their cards is never if the prompter is broken ...

The studio is big, but behind the rail (Camera/Prompter) is the corner sofa, for exclusive interviews.

And a photo of me on the sofa on the news page of my website.

In the large studio it's ;

  • A table for up to 6 guests and 1 or 2 journalists around the table.
  • 8 microphones
  • 8 360-degree cameras and 1 camera/prompter.
  • 1 corner with a screen, for journalists to give explanations during programmes.
  • On the other side of the camera/prompter is the sofa area.

Now that we've left the TV studio behind, let's go to the radio studio; HERE is the LN Radio studio:

The LN Radio studio can accommodate up to 4 guests. The studio has 5 cameras and 4 microphones.

Come on, I'll take you with me to the control room and on video.

This is the main studio control room. Basically, there are 3 control rooms (large studio, small studio and the radio control room). When I say small studio, it's not really that ... But it's smaller than the big one, in this small studio as I say, it's where we have the LN Midi news programme (Monday to Friday), the recording of the weather forecast, or sometimes video capsules (TikTok, YouTube and Instagram) in the 3D sets.

Oh yes, I forgot, in each control room it's 2 or even 3 people at most (technicians or JRIs), but here at LN24 (IPM Group) it's 100% Journalists, but at LN24 it's JRI. (JRI = Journaliste Reporter d'Images)), Yes, you read that right, Journalistes reporter d'images ; WHY JRI?

Here's a quick explanation: Basically, a JRI is a journalist who takes images and interviews using an iPhone with a small light, a tripod and, of course, a microphone. Here's a quick explanation of a JRI, obviously LN24 isn't RTBF or RTL yet with big BETACAM (big pro cameras). The JRI is sometimes alone with a smartphone or with two small cameras in the field.

LN24 is a private channel, and its financial resources come from advertising and part of the partnerships with the brands of the group's daily newspapers (La Libre, la DH, l'avenir). Created in October 2018, broadcasting since 2 September 2019 ... Despite the crisis covid-19, they are very well done that ... But mid 2021 LN24 it was for sale, after a few weeks of negotiations, since 23 December 2021 LN24 it was bought by the IPM group for € 2.7 million and € 300,000 by Belfius. LN24 is owned 68% by the IPM Group. Read the article here : https://www.ln24.be/2021-12-23/ln24-integre-le-groupe-de-presse-ipm

Their ambition is to increase the audience for LN24. At the moment, on 31 October 2023, when I joined IPM Groupe, the LN radio Matinale broadcast on LN24 (6.30am-9am Monday to Friday) has +/- 40,000 viewers in the morning alone. The LN24 editorial team consists of 52 JRIs. Since December 2021, there have been journalists from La libre covering Belgian and international politics on LN24, journalists from Moustique for decrypting news but in YouTube, Instagram and TikTok formats, and Paris-Match for ROYAL news such as the special edition on the death of Queen Elizabeth II (this special edition was in partnership with Paris-Match)...

If you haven't heard of LN24 yet, check out their website: LN24.be. Yes, I get a lot of information from LN24 and I also subscribe to the IPM Group's print media (digital version).
